Our Wildlife Walk About is home to our wildlife friends that call Iron P Homestead Zoo "home"! Be prepared to see and learn about over 50 species along the way! Please note parts of the trails are natural terrain and contain hills and uneven surfaces. Although, if dry, is perfectly navigatable by wheelchair and stroller.  
           

Online reservations are generally processed on the same day they are received. If you need to make a correction, please contact the Zoo Office at (706) 452-1907. Please remember you must make any corrections or amendments to your reservation at least 24 hours before your scheduled time as no rain checks, refunds, or transfers will be offered after that time. 

We are OPEN Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sundays 1pm-5pm with the last ticket to be sold at 4pm daily.

Yes we have Animal Feed, Gator Bites(April-October), and Bird Feeding Sticks available for purchase in our Gift Shop where you will check in. Interested in feeding our exotic animals? Book one of our Animal Encounters for a WILD Experience! 

Unless you book the entire block of slots for a certain encounter, there is a possiblity that others will book the same encounter time as well. 

All encounters are groups of a maximum of 5-10 persons. Prices are per individual and each person must obtain a ticket to be part of the experience. Photography is prohibited so that you as well as the others participating can enjoy the encounter to the fullest. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to encounter start time for check in. Specific animal species are subject to change seasonally and daily due to weather and other circumstances. There are no rain checks or refunds. Time slot changes can not be made on the day of encounters. Please call with at least 24 hours notice to change your parties reservation. Encounters are the WILDEST time we offer here at the Homestead Zoo. We thank you for following our guidelines, they are most beneficial to our zoo goers and animal friends!    

 Please note: Service dogs are permitted in the park by appointment only and must be made 24 hours in advance. For the safety of our guests and animals.

• Can you leave the zoo and return later? If you need to leave the zoo at anytime during your visit,  please stop by the check-in counter and have your hand stamped.  This ensures you will be able to return.  Admission is only good for the same day printed on ticket.

•  Call in advance if you need to arrive at a later time than reserved. We will do our best to accommodate you.

• What happens if it rains?  There are shelters and activities that are amazingly fun in any kind of weather.  If you do not have rain gear, you may purchase ponchos in the gift shop and continue your adventures in the rain.  You can also choose to relax at one of our benches or picnic tables and allow the weather to pass.  The Reptile Experienc and Sloth Encounters may be done inside.  SUMMER RAIN SHOWERS are part of Georgia Summers.  Scheduled encounter times will continue,  If there is a summer down pour, your encounter may be delayed slightly.  Please come prepared for that.  Refunds or rain-checks for inclement weather are not offered.
• Does the Zoo ever close because of weather? Yes, sometimes we have to close because of weather. Guest and Animal safety is our number one priority and there are certain weather circumstances that may cause the entire zoo to close earlier than scheduled or not open at all. As soon as closures are confirmed the website or Facebook page will be updated. Please call or check the website and Facebook page prior to visiting on days when weather may be a concern.  If you are scheduled for a reserved encounter, please call to confirm your encounter on days of inclement weather.  We will also call those reserved if rescheduling needs to be done.
• Do you give rain-checks for inclement weather? We do not provide rain checks once you enter the zoo after check-in.
• Do you provide refunds or rain-checks if children or adults are not able to finish the tour, experience etc.    We cannot provide rain-checks or refunds. 
• Do we get a refund or rain-check if our  tours, experiences or other activities are delayed?  We do not give out refunds or rain-checks for situations such as these.  Please come prepared to have a great time but allow flexibility.  Iron P Homestead is known for their one of a kind tours and experiences.  At times these may be slightly delayed due to weather, guests delayed at other activity or animal transport to the encounter area.  There are lots of fun and exciting things to do here at the zoo so while you are waiting, feel free to browse the gift shop, pet some more animals, enjoy a snack or drink, relax in the shade or enjoy other activities going on in the barnyard.
